My journey in wildlife management began at the age of five, working alongside my father on our family’s wildlife preserve in Wisconsin. That early hands-on experience sparked a lifelong passion for wildlife and conservation. I went on to earn a degree in Wildlife Biology from the University of Wisconsin, with a minor in Environmental Law Enforcement. While in school, I spent my summers working with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, gaining valuable field experience and a deep understanding of both state and federal environmental regulations, including trapping and tagging protocols.
I began my professional career in 1983, specializing in game trapping and nuisance wildlife control at the state level. My early work involved live-trapping problematic species such as black bears, beavers, muskrats, and otters to protect local ecosystems and fisheries. Over time, I expanded into residential wildlife removal, helping homeowners safely and humanely deal with intrusions by squirrels, bats, raccoons, snakes, and more.
With over four decades of experience, I’ve built Varmint Gone around a core mission: to protect families, homes, and businesses from the damage and health risks posed by nuisance wildlife—using effective, ethical, and environmentally responsible practices.
